Volunteer Travel

One of the first volunteer travelers we know of was in the earlier days when the missionaries would travel and do their work while being in another country. These missionaries went with the same intention as most of the volunteers of today are. Their values and beliefs also want to break a cycle of poverty.They want to make sure that people have the basic necessities of life like clean water, food and shelter.
Then there is disaster relief volunteer travel f.e. after hurricane Katrina, tsunami and now in Haiti.
