Niagara Region has a lot to offer and for you to discover
Being in the Niagara region you have a great opportunity to visit two countries, Canada and the USA. Another advantage is that (except Niagara Falls itself) it is not too crowded with tourism and still close enough to everything you want to see and visit; Crystal Beach, at the South Coast of Canada, which is only 15 minutes from Niagara Falls and having a lovely sandy beach. This is geographical ideal when wanting to visit the States and Canada. Staying in Canada is less expensive and the people are very friendly.

The easiest way to get around is renting a car Click here After you have found your way to Crystal Beach (south in the Niagara Region) we will help you to find your way around and show you the way to places of interest. A must see of course is Niagara Falls. I mean it is still one of the Wonders of the World and although not everyone likes the buzz around it, you have to see through that and just focus on this immense waterfall. Visiting the first time, there is only one road to take and that is the Niagara Parkway. It will take you from Fort Erie at Lake Erie, along the Niagara River to The Falls. After having seen Niagara Falls the Parkway goes on and will lead you to Niagara on the Lake where it ends at Lake Ontario. There, on a clear day you will have a beautiful view of the skyline of Toronto.

Niagara on the Lake is a lovely, little town which will remind you of England. Tourism is big here, especially in the summer months. Lots of little shops and great tasting food in cosy restaurants where they also will serve you several kinds of fantastic wines from all the wineries in this region.A wine tour is an experience you do not want to miss. If there are children with you let them have fun at Marineland or a little closer to us, at Zooz.
The Niagara Region is embedded by two Lakes: in the northLake Ontario which is a deep lake, so the water stays pretty cold, even in the summer and it has mostly rocks along the shores. In the south Lake Erie, on the other hand, which is nice, warm and clear in the summer and has lovely, sandy beaches. In Crystal Beach you will find one of them.
If you want to have the ultimate camping experience, Canada is perfect for it. Albert Hofman had this experience and loved it.
One of the cities in Ontario you want to visit is Toronto, which is about 140 km from Crystal Beach. It can be a one or two day visit, depends how much you want to see and do. Toronto has a vast cultural diversity. It goes from cosmopolitan chic to country charm. There is a vivacious nightlife, but it also offers Art galleries, Princess of Wales Theatre, Royal Ontario Museum, Downtown Yonge, Old Town, Queen West, Bloor-Yorkville and Unionville. Some other cities you might want to drive to are Ottawa, Montreal and Quebec. Although some people rather fly there.
Except the airport in Toronto, there is also the very convenient airport in Hamilton. It has, as an example, really great and cheap flights to the United Kingdom (worth checking out).
Even closer by is the airport of Buffalo, NY. It is only a 20 minute drive from Crystal Beach. This airport is smaller, so not as busy as Toronto, which can be a relief. They have great deals on flying to New York City. Maybe an idea for a few days?
