Enjoying the weather and all the seasons

The weather can be enjoyable here with four seasons and big differences in temperatures. Spring and fall are relatively short.

The first year here we were expecting bulbs coming out in March. And they still did not show up in April. The middle of May we saw some tulips coming out and a light green on the trees. The winter coats were still in reach and before you know what happened, you were walking outside in your shorts. So as you can see it is not always cold in Canada. It is actually lovely in the summer. And then, as a treat, there is the Indian Summer in October, with crisp nights and nice sunny days with great temperatures.
The Southwestern Coast has a relatively mild climate. Along the Arctic Circle, mean temperatures are below freezing point seven months of the year. In the summer the southern provinces have a high humidity and temperatures that go above 30C regularly. The Western and Southeastern part of Canada have lots of rainfall, but the prairies are dry.

Every season has its' activities and..........also its' chores. In the spring raking the grass and cleaning up all the branches, in the summer cutting your grass (you even can get a fine from the Town if you do not keep your lawn short and neat), in the fall trying to get rid of alllllllll the leaves. And you better hurry, because before you know the snow can be flying.

Because of another climate there are also different vegetation, plants and trees: a very famous tree is the maple leaf tree. And have you ever seen moose, bears, coyotes, skunks, squirrels or raccoons in your backyard? I love to see the Canadian geese fly over. Especially in April (you hear them too): You know they are coming home and summer is on its' way.
